The Ideal Home Show

After a fantastic visit last year, I have re-booked my tickets to go to the Ideal Home Show again. I actually cant wait!!! This is such a great event which combines gardens, interiors, diy, fashion and home all in one venue at one event. If you havnt been it is well worth a visit. To get me even more in the mood here is a selection of pictures from when I went last year.

Make it down to Earl's Court, it runs from March 16th - April 1st. Its definately worth it!

Restoration Triumphs

I am loving the current series of Restoration Man with George Clarke. The people who take on these projects are an inspiration and I would love to undertake something like this in the future. The advice that George gives them is really useful and helps them get the best out of the buildings. A great series that needs to continue. I have picked a few of my favourite projects which have featured in the series.

Anglesey Windmill

The Ice House

Settle Water Tower, my absolute favourite!!!

Home of the future

After watching the first episode of 'Home of the future' on channel4 tonight, I wanted to look at what products are currently on the market. The house featured was stripped from top to bottom and everything from fingerprint door unlocking, electric cars to remotes for lighting and self cleaning bathroom tiles.

Carpet cleaning robot.

Outdoor living pod.

Smart Fridge, interactive screen that plans your day and displays your up and coming events.

Grass cutting robot.

Eco Hospital Design

Hospital design is getting a facelift. The new P3Hospital in Glasgow was designed by Reiach and Hall Architects is centred around its efficiency to benefit staff, patients and the environment.

Their ethos is that the patient comes first with all medical consultations/treatment should be carried out on the same day on the same site.

Text, colour and light all play an important role in the interiors design.

What a view...

What with all this bad weather, this is where I would like to be waking up! This amazing open plan kitchen space is situated in the Spanish Pyrenees.

Snow snow snow

Seeing as the snow is finally here...I thought I should look at some great designs and creations that use the cold stuff. Ice Bar London is a highlight in the capital as many people want to experience the unique interior. It is rebuilt every 6 months so that it can last most of the year.

A bit further afield is the ice hotel in Sweden is a once in a lifetime opourtunity. Spending the night in a room made completely from ice...ice walls, floors and even the bed!! Its something that I would love to experience in my life for sure.

Compact living at its best

Trawling on StumbleUpon earlier whilst I was bored I found this, an amazing piece of design for a small apartment in New York. It has everything you need but it all fits into a very small space indeed, who needs a big house when you can have this...

Who knew stamps were cool...

I've been doing some research for a project at uni and I came across this website http://www.stamprugs.com/ which has unique rugs shaped like stamps. I had seen one on Alan Carr Chatty Man before but now everyone can have one. Prices start from £765.

Barcelona

Here is a collection of photos I took when I went to Barcelona recently.
